<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deodorizing the inside of a room capable of effectively using a deodorizing function by an active species. <P>SOLUTION: An electrostatic atomizing device 1 includes a water tank 6 storing water to be atomized in a lower part thereof and is constituted of: a cylindrical holder 10 having a vent hole 12 is open on a peripheral surface thereof; a counter electrode 3 arranged in an upper part of the holder 10; an application electrode 2 fitted in a lower part of the holder 10 for applying a voltage to water; a plurality of rod-like water absorbers 4 held by the application electrode 2; and an ionization needle 5 held by the application electrode 2 as well.
