The control weight (1) has a marking, and has a permanently applied machine-readable identification code, which makes the detailed weight piece as individual recognizable. The machine-readable identification code is formed as matrix code (2) and as a miniaturized bar code. An independent claim is also included for a method for the backtracking of an identifiable weight.
