A transfer or feed drum (21; 62) for filter or cigarette portions (4), the drum (21; 62) having: a central body (22) mounted to rotate about a first axis of rotation (23); a number of movable assemblies (24), each of which is fitted to the central body (22) to rotate, with respect to the central body (22), about a respective second axis of rotation (25) parallel to the first axis of rotation (23), and supports a pickup or feed head (26; 63) having at least one seat (27) with a U-shaped cross section and for engaging at least one filter or cigarette portion (4); and an actuating system (33), which controls the angular position of each movable assembly (24) about the respective second axis of rotation (25) as a function of the angular position of the central body (22) about the first axis of rotation (23). |
