A user terminal device and a control method thereof are provided. The user terminal device comprises: a display unit; a sensing unit sensing a user interaction on the display unit; and a control unit controlling a function of the user terminal depending on a touch pattern of a touched surface among a plurality of surfaces, when a user interaction of which a polyhedral-shaped input device including different touch patterns in a plurality of surfaces individually through the sensing unit. The present invention provides a user terminal to perform various functions by sensing an input device having different touch patterns.
