Provided are a method of generating an elastic image using a probe having a curved surface and an ultrasonic wave diagnosis apparatus. The method of generating an ultrasonic wave elastic image in an ultrasonic wave imaging apparatus containing a curved array probe, includes: a shear wave inducing step of inducing a shear wave to travel in a second direction by transmitting, in a first direction, a first ultrasonic wave signal for pushing an object by using the curved array probe; an echo signal acquiring step of transmitting to the object a second ultrasonic wave signal which is a straight plane wave in a direction parallel to the second direction by using the curved array probe and receiving the echo signal of the second ultrasonic wave signal reflected by the object; and an image generating step of generating an elastic image about the object by using the received echo signal.
