A scaffolding loading bay safety gate1 comprises a barrier 2 that is mounted in a pivotable manner so that it may be pivoted into and out of positions whereby bay loading is respectively prevented or permitted. An extension member 3 is provided that is mounted to the barrier in a slidable manner whereby a longitudinal dimension of the barrier may be increased or decreased by sliding the extension member in the longitudinal direction. The extension member 3 comprises a frame including first and second extension frame members 4, 5 that extend parallel to one another in the longitudinal direction and along opposed longitudinally extending edges of the extension member, and one or more intermediate extension frame members 6 provided at an intermediate position between the first and second extension frame members. |
