PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably produce coke having high strength, in the method for producing coke obtained by charging molding coal and blended coal with pulverized coal to a coke furnace and performing dry distillation, even if a large amount of deteriorated coal to be blended into the molding coal is used.SOLUTION: In the method for producing coke of charging molding coal and blended coal with pulverized coal to a coke furnace and performing dry distillation, the molding coal and the pulverized blended coal are filled to a container by natural drop, a cross-sectional image in the container is taken by X-ray CT, from the obtained cross-sectional image, the maximum width W of voids formed around the molding coal is measured, further, the maximum expansion volume upon dry distillation of the molding coal is measured, the expansion amount of the molding coal is obtained as the variation &Dgr;r before and after the expansion, coal blending at which the variation &Dgr;r reaches 40% or higher of the maximum width W is obtained, and molding coal produced based on the blending is used. |
