The present invention relates to a computing method for detecting and correcting errors and a device thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the computing method, which is used to detect and correct errors, includes the steps of: receiving a data read command from a host; reading data in a first page area; correcting an error by using a first code when the error is detected in the first page area and correcting the detected error by using the first code; checking whether an error is detected in the first page area by using a second code when no error is detected in the first page area; and using parity to correct an error when the error is detected by using the second code.
