A system and method are provided that provide a Push to talk over Cellular (PoC) service. The method comprises transmitting, to a server, a PoC group call request for a PoC connection for a PoC group, and receiving a PoC group call response from the server in response to the PoC group call request, the PoC group call response comprising one of a rejection response and an acceptance response, based on a priority of any currently connected PoC groups and a number of current PoC connections. An acceptance response can be received when the number of current PoC connections is less than a maximum number of PoC connections. |
