<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine including a top cover in a free arm part, capable of being positioned by simple manipulation, easily being attached and detached and having a sewing work plane having good appearance, strength and workability. <P>SOLUTION: A sewing machine includes a top cover attached to an upper opening of a free arm part in a detachable manner, for covering the upper opening. The top cover is formed by integrally bonding an outer cover forming a sewing work plane on its top face and an inner cover having engaging means for engaging itself with an attaching part of the free arm part. The attaching part is provided in the upper opening of the free arm part, and the engaging means is provided in a lower face of the inner cover. The attaching part and the engaging means are engaged with each other while being positioned only by relative movement of the top cover to the free arm part, thus allowing the top cover to be attached to the free arm part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
