A driver assistance device and an assistance method thereof are disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the driver assistance device comprises: a door detection unit detecting opening of a vehicle door on which a side-view mirror is mounted; a side-view mirror driving unit rotating the side-view mirror; and an electronic control unit controlling the side-view mirror driving unit for a mirror angle of the side-view mirror to be changed when the vehicle door is opened through the door detection unit. Thus, a collision risk with an object in the rear of a vehicle can be reduced.
