The invention relates to a water pump. Vent holes for discharging steam in an outer shell and ribs for reinforcing tension of belt wheels for driving a pump can be kept at a proper position even if the vent holes for discharging the steam in the outer shell and the ribs for reinforcing tension of the belt wheels for driving the pump generate interference at each position. The water pump comprises the bearing chamber (11) at inner circumferential side of a bearing hub unit (1) of the outer shell (A), a seal mounting chamber (21) in a pump shell part (2), a gap chamber (3) formed between the bearing chamber (11) and the seal mounting chamber (21), a ventilating hole (5) for communicating the inner upper part and the outer upper part of the gap chamber (3) of the outer shell (A), a ventilation entablature part (6) which is formed on a predetermined position above the outside surface of the bearing hub unit (1) and covers the opening of the ventilating hole (5) and the ribs formed between the upper surface of the ventilation entablature part (6) and the pump shell part (2). The ventilation entablature part (6) is protrudingly formed from the side of the pump shell part (2) along an axial direction of the bearing hub unit (1). |
