The present invention relates to an electrochemical element and a manufacturing method thereof, the electrochemical element comprising: electrodes including a composite of an active material and a conductive material having a nanofiber structure; and a cellulose nanofiber separator combined with the electrodes. According to the present invention, the electrochemical element obviates the need for an additional binder and an electrode current collector, has a stable interfacial surface due to a physical union of the separator and the electrode, can assure superb mechanical and physical properties, and can maintain stable battery performance even against deformations due to various external forces.
