The present specification relates to an apparatus for controlling a linear compressor, and to a method for controlling a linear compressor. More specifically, the present specification relates to an apparatus for controlling a linear compressor, which has effects in maintaining, repairing, and inspecting the linear compressor in an easy and simple manner, and to a method for controlling a linear compressor. The apparatus for controlling a linear compressor identifies a type of a motor by applying a test signal to the linear compressor, so as to solve a problem of the conventional technique in which the compatibility is limited, controls the linear compressor with respect to the identified type of the motor, and diagnoses whether to have the failure in the linear compressor. Therefore, the type of the motor is self-identified without an extra device or a measuring process. In addition, an accurate and efficient control is performed with respect to the properties of the motor. |
