Ultrasonic inspection using incidence angles

A method and apparatus is presented. A signal may be sent into a structure at an incidence angle from a transducer array. A response signal reflected from the structure in response to the signal sent into the structure may be detected at the transducer array to form a received response.

sending a signal into a structure at an incidence angle from a transducer array; detecting a response signal at the transducer array to form a received response, the response signal reflected from the structure in response to the signal sent into the structure; and identifying a first location of the transducer array, wherein the first location is an estimated receiving location for a response signal reflected from a back surface of the structure.
