Disclosed is an image generation apparatus to generate a high-resolution image. An image generation apparatus in accordance with an embodiment comprises: a light source which outputs light; a random medium which scatters the emitted light, having a speckle pattern; a position driving device which changes a relative position or angle between the random medium and light emitted from the light source, and changes the speckle pattern; a sensor which senses a fluorescent light signal emitted from a fluorescent material when light with the speckle pattern is irradiated to the fluorescent material, converting it into an electric signal; and an image processor which obtains images in accordance with each of the changeable speckle patterns using the converted electric signal, and generating a fluorescent image by processing the images.
