PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: in a display device of a normally black mode, after energization at high temperature (70°C), streak-like black unevenness is generated in room temperature display.SOLUTION: A display device includes a pixel electrode, a common electrode, and a liquid crystal layer. The display device has a scanning period for scanning one screen and a retention period between the scanning period and subsequent period. A first potential to be applied to the common electrode during the scanning period immediately before the retention period is made different from a second potential to be applied to the common electrode during the retention period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
