PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method and its control method that set the role of a dual-role device according to the role of a communication opposite party.SOLUTION: A communication unit 217 in a device communicates with another device via a network 101. Via the communication unit 217, a communication control unit 216 transmits information indicating the role of the device to the other device, receives information indicating the role of the other device from the other device, and searches for other devices with which the device is able to communicate. A CPU 201 sets the role of the device on the basis of an opposite device 102 selected as a communication opposite party from other devices with which the device is able to communicate, and controls communicating an image with the opposite party 102.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
