PURPOSE: To provide a memory control device and a memory control method that are capable of performing the error check and refreshing processing of a memory without obstructing the operation of the memory.CONSTITUTION: A memory control device refers to a power-on-reset check region in a RAM in response to a reset signal, and determines whether or not the received reset signal is a reset signal on the basis of a power-on-reset signal, which is a first reset signal after power-up. If the memory control device determines that the received reset signal is a reset signal on the basis of the power-on-reset signal, it performs memory check processing for an object page in each block within the memory. Also, it performs refreshing processing for a block in which the number of error bits detected in the memory check processing is a threshold value or above. The memory check processing is performed for a different page as an object page whenever power is turned on.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
