PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal projector that has a cooling structure high in cooling efficiency.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal projector comprises: a first opening part 701 that is provided in one of a frame member 700G in a first space defined by an electrostatic lens 411, an incident side polarizer 7aG, and the frame member 700G; a second opening part 703 that is provided on an opposite side relative to the first opening part 701 of the frame member 700G and an optical axis in a second space defined by the incident side polarizer 7aG, a liquid crystal panel 6G and the frame member 700G; and a third opening part 702 that is provided so as to connect the first space and the second space on either side of the incident side polarizer 7aG when directing at a direction of the second opening part 703 from the first opening part 701.
