PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode whose shape change is effectively suppressed to increase the lifetime of a battery because the shape change of the electrode causes a disadvantage that it causes depletion of a negative electrode active material and disturbs a normal battery reaction.SOLUTION: When a layer thickness adjusting member is contained in an active material layer formed on a power collector of an electrode, the active material is suppressed from being pressed to the outside of the electrode by press force to the electrode, so that shape change can be effectively suppressed. An electrode is configured to contain a power collector and an active material layer containing an active material, and the active material layer contains a layer thickness adjusting member. The layer thickness adjusting member is a porous material, a particulate material having an average particle diameter larger than the average particle diameter of the active material in any state of a charging state and a discharging state and a higher reduction potential than the active material, or a columnar material having plural columnar sites longer than the average particle diameter of the active material in any state of the charging state and the discharging state.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
