PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc negative electrode suppressed in the occurrence of malfunctions such as the form change/passivation of an active material layer and the depletion of a negative electrode active material.SOLUTION: A zinc negative electrode includes a collector and an active material layer containing zinc species as an active material. The active material layer is covered with an electrode protection member. The electrode protection member is formed of an insulating material having a Young's modulus of 0.1-1,000 GPa, and allows hydroxide ions to pass therethrough.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
