PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cyclohexanone by selective hydrogenation of phenol at high selectivity, in high yield and with a long catalyst life.SOLUTION: The method for producing cyclohexanone, in which phenol is hydrogenated in a vapor phase in the presence of a catalyst, which is obtained by depositing palladium on a carrier containing alumina and hexaaluminate. According to this method, cyclohexanone can be produced at high selectivity, in high yield and with the long catalyst life.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
