ESHSP16.9 GENE AND USES THEREOF

The present invention relates to abiotic stress tolerance-related EsHsp16.9 (Elymus sibiricus L. Heat shock protein 16.9) protein or a gene coding the same, and a method of promoting tolerance to abiotic stress of a plant using the same. According to the present invention, the expression of an Eshsp16.9 gene is increased in various abiotic stress environments such as salt, famine, or heavy metal. Therefore, the Eshsp16.9 gene is used for molecular breeding of grass and useful in developing a transgenic plant having strong abiotic stress tolerance.
