PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print control device that can easily specify a cause of abnormality in a motor drive when detecting the abnormality, a print control method and a program.SOLUTION: A print control device comprises: moving means that moves recording means in two directions by driving of a motor; detecting means that detects abnormality of the motor for moving the recording means; control means that controls the moving means so that the recording means is moved in a second direction when the detecting means detects an abnormality during movement of the recording means in a first direction; and notifying means that performs notification corresponding to the abnormality on the basis of a movement result of the moving means by the control means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
