EMERGENCY BRAKE DEVICE FOR TRACK TRAVELING TYPE MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency brake device for a track traveling type machine: capable of generating sufficient braking force onto a rail having undulation; capable of preventing overrunning of the track traveling type machine due to strong wind; and capable of suppressing load onto a structure and device itself as little as possible.SOLUTION: On an upper surface of a base block 14, an inclined surface 14a is formed, having an upslope from a center part to both end side in longitudinal direction of a rail 4. The base block 14 is hung from a piston rod 13b with a connecting member 15. An upper edge engaged on the piston rod 13b of the connecting member 15 in a pivotable manner is slidably attached along with a long hole 13c provided on the piston rod 13b. A pressing member 16 is attached on a lower surface of the piston rod 13b. The center part of the base block 14 is pressed via a pressing member 16 with an extending action by the piston rod 13b. A brake pad 12 is constructed so as to be pressed on a traveling wheel rotating surface 4a of the rail 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
