PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time until processing can be executed from a standstill state.SOLUTION: An MFP stores in a flash memory a snap shot including an execution program loading one or more programs into a RAM by a main CPU. A CPU for start-up includes: a start-up factor detection section 85 for detecting any one of a plurality of start-up factors while power is not supplied to the main CPU; a start-up section 89 which starts up the main CPU; a cut-off control section 91 which cuts off power to be supplied to the main control CPU and the RAM in response to switching an operation mode to a stop mode by the main CPU; and a power recovery section 93 which supplies power to the main CPU and the RAM prior to starting up the main CPU. The main CPU includes recovery means by which the snap shot related to the start-up factor is read from the flash memory and stored in the RAM in response to start-up.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
