PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor excavation system for safely excavating a nuclear reactor in crushing and recovering fuel debris deposited in the nuclear reactor.SOLUTION: A shield chamber 19 having a radiation shielding ability is installed in an upper part of a nuclear reactor 2, a tunnel 15 connecting the shield chamber 19 to a water tank 25 is installed, and water gates 151-153 are disposed in a midway of the tunnel 15. The nuclear reactor 2 is excavated and fragments are pulled into the shield chamber 19. The fragments pulled into the shield chamber 19 are mounted on a transport machine 16, and are transported into the water tank 25 by filling water into the tunnel 15 or removing water from the tunnel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 23 |
