PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping device for releasably holding a tool holder shank, in which a reduced size of a draw mechanism allows the clamping device to be small and inexpensive.SOLUTION: A cam shaft includes three cam formations, more precisely, first and second spaced cam formations 37', 37", which are journaled in seating apertures in a housing on opposite sides of a drawbar, and an intermediate third cam formation 37"' located between the first and second cam formations and positioned within an aperture of the drawbar. These formations reduce the size of each cam and reduce the overall cross-sectional dimension of the drawbar.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15 |
