PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide designs, strategies and methods for improving the biocompatibility of energization elements.SOLUTION: A biomedical device comprises an electroactive component 120, and a biocompatible battery 110. The biocompatible battery comprises a first and a second current collector, a cathode, an anode, and a laminar structure. At least one layer of the laminar structure has a volume removed to form a cavity. The cavity contains an electrolyte solution, a separator, and the cathode. The biocompatibility of the biocompatible battery is improved by formulating a composition of the electrolyte solution to contain a zinc salt of about 10 wt.% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A |
