The objective of the present invention is to provide an imaging apparatus capable of restricting shaking of a subject while restricting distortion of the subject. The apparatus includes: a liquid crystal shutter (30) reducing transmissivity due to an applied voltage; a CMOS image sensor (40); a lens (10) imaging light of a target area; a shutter control unit (63) performing shutter control of the liquid crystal shutter (30); and an image sensor control unit (62). The liquid crystal shutter (30) is arranged to a target area side with respect to the CMOS image sensor (40). The image sensor control unit (62) controls the CMOS image sensor (40) to make a part of a charge accumulation period overlapped each other in each line on the CMOS image sensor (40). The shutter control unit (63) controls the liquid crystal shutter (30) to make the CMOS image sensor (40) exposed within the overlapping accumulation period in which the charge accumulation periods of all lines are overlapping with each other.
