PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a composite molding having a strong bond strength between a substrate metal and a coating layer.SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing a composite molding 1 having a coating layer 20 on a metal molding 10 serving as a substrate, the coating layer 20 is made of a constituent material same as or different from the metal molding 10 serving as a substrate. The method of manufacturing the composite molding 1 includes the steps of: continuously irradiating the surface of the metal molding 10 with a laser beam at an irradiation speed of 2,000 mm/s or more using a continuous wave laser; and forming the coating layer 20 on the surface of the metal molding 10, irradiated with the laser beam in the above step, by a thermal spraying method.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
