PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective novel therapy to androgen dependent prostate cancer, and to provide a marker useful for the prediction of the therapeutic effect in androgen independent prostate cancer.SOLUTION: A double-stranded nucleic acid molecule, such as siRNA, which can inhibit the expression of ABHD2 gene is produced, and thereby progression of androgen dependent prostate cancer is inhibited. The therapeutic effect in androgen independent prostate cancer is previously predicted using the expression of ABHD2 gene as a determining marker.SELECTED DRAWING: None
