PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge device which reliably protects peripheries of discharge ports over a long period.SOLUTION: A passage unit 23 of an ink jet head includes: a synthetic resin made nozzle plate 39 in which nozzles 44 are formed; and a metal plate 38 laminated on the nozzle plate 39. Protruding parts 53 protruding to the nozzle plate 39 side are formed in the metal plate 38 and covered by the nozzle plate 39.
