摘要 The present invention relates to a regenerative brake apparatus, capable of easily determining the leakage of brake oil supplied to first and second cylinder circuits, and a method of operating the same. According to the present invention, the regenerative brake apparatus includes: a location detection sensor, a first pressure sensor, a second pressure sensor, and a control unit. The location detection sensor detects the location of a piston which performs linear movement such that hydraulic pressure is formed in the stored brake oil according to motors rotating by motor current applied to the motors, when a brake pedal is operated. The first pressure sensor detects first hydraulic pressure of first brake oil when the first brake oil is supplied to a first wheel cylinder circuit. The second pressure sensor detects second hydraulic pressure of second brake oil when the second brake oil is supplied to a second wheel cylinder circuit different from the first wheel cylinder circuit. The control unit determines an oil leakage state of at least one of the first and second wheel cylinder circuits, based on the hydraulic pressure of the brake oil calculated according to the location and the first and second hydraulic pressure.
