PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for configuring settings on user authentication appropriately, in using an application installed in an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: acquisition means for acquiring button information on buttons to be displayed in a menu screen, from an application installed; display means for displaying a menu screen, on the basis of the button information acquired; control means for controlling a screen of the application to be displayed when a button in the menu screen is touched; and setting means for setting whether to request user authentication when the button is touched in the menu screen. The control means requests user authentication before the screen of the application is displayed when the button set by the setting means to request user authentication is touched in the menu screen.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
