PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively measure a quantity of ether phospholipid in serum or blood plasma.SOLUTION: After serum or blood plasma of a subject is subjected to hydrolytic processing, then the serum or blood plasma is subjected to lipid extraction processing. Thereby, a quantity of ether phospholipid in the serum or blood plasma can be easily, accurately, and inexpensively measured by an evaporation light scattering detector (ELSD) which is a general detector of HPLC. In addition, after performing the hydrolytic processing, when processing using amine oxidase, or using choline oxidase and peroxidase is performed, a quantity of ethanolamine ether phospholipid or choline ether phospholipid in the serum or blood plasma can be accurately, easily, and inexpensively measured by a spectral photometer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
