PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform printing more suitably by suppressing a problem such as blocking in a case where a constitution of taking up a medium after printing is used.SOLUTION: A printer 10 for performing printing on a medium 50 comprises: a print head which forms an overcoat layer 104 on the medium 50; an after heater 36 which heats the medium 50 on which the overcoat layer 104 is formed; and a take-up roller 42 being a medium take-up part which takes up the medium 50 after heating with the after heater 36. The after heater 36 heats the medium 50 so that the temperature of the overcoat layer 104 becomes equal to or greater than the glass transition point. The take-up roller 42 takes up the medium in the state where the temperature of the overcoat layer 104 is reduced to the temperature less than the glass transition point.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
