PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air resistance reduction member for a railway vehicle capable of satisfactorily reducing air resistance without increasing a working load such as maintenance of a railway vehicle and capable of providing a longer life than heretofore.SOLUTION: A first area 3e in which the surface is extended in the vertical direction and a second area 3f which is bent such that the car width becomes narrower toward the lower side in the lower side than the first area 3e are formed on a car body lateral surface 3d of a vehicle 2 of a railway vehicle 1. An air resistance reduction member 8 is attached so as to be protruded on the lateral side on a peripheral area on an inter-car part S2 on the second area 3f or on the front side in a proceeding direction of an opening part S1. The air resistance reduction member 8 is characterized in that both of the width in the vertical direction and the height protruded from the car body lateral surface to the lateral side are increased toward the back side from the front side in the proceeding direction of the railway vehicle 1 and a shape having a first inclination surface part 8e and a second inclination surface part 8f forming a falling gradient toward the vertical direction is provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
