PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of achieving energy saving more effectively than conventional apparatuses without deteriorating the image quality even after use over a long period of time.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus that performs fixation processing by heating and pressing, at a fixation nip part of a fixation device, an unfixed toner image formed by color toner on a recording material and a colorless transparent adhesion resin having a lower limit temperature of a fixation appropriate temperature than that of the color toner, the fixation device comprises at least a fixation member; a pressure member that forms the fixation nip part by pressure-contact with the fixation member; a heating body that heats the fixation member; and an adhesion resin application mechanism for applying the adhesion resin onto the fixation member. The adhesion resin is applied onto the surface of the fixation member by the adhesion resin application mechanism, and then supplied to the fixation nip part according to the rotational movement of the fixation member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
