PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing a compound having a N-acyl carbamoyl group and a ring containing a lactone skeleton.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of converting to N-acyl carbamoyl group-containing lactone compound represented by the formula (4) by reacting carboxylic aid or a reactive derivative thereof with a cyano group-containing lactone compound.
