PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost and efficient method for recovering valuable metals from a waste nickel hydrogen battery where cost reduction in a facility, electric power or the like is attained, and treatment time and working steps required for the treatment are reduced.SOLUTION: In a leaching-crystallizing step S11, a leaching reaction of leaching, e.g., valuable metals such as nickel and cobalt and a crystallizing reaction of crystallizing out rare earth elements such as lanthanum are progressed in one reaction tank. More concretely, a variable metal-containing material obtained from a waste nickel hydrogen battery is added with a sulfuric acid solution and the sulfate of alkali metal to obtain a mixture of leaching residue and the precipitates of the double sulfate mixed precipitates of rare earth elements and a rare earth element-removed solution, and from the obtained rare earth element-removed solution, the valuable metals such as nickel and cobalt are separated and recovered.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
