PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant removal device for a footstep chain which can easily perform brush clearing work while suppressing contamination of footsteps by lubricant oil for the footstep chain.SOLUTION: A lubricant removal device for a footstep chain comprises: a plurality of footsteps 2 which are circularly moved between entrances 1A, 1B; a footstep chain 3 which endlessly connects respective footsteps 2; a guide rail 4 which guides the respective footsteps 2; a frame 5 which accommodates the footsteps 2, the footstep chain 3, and the guide rail 4. The footstep 2 is applied to an escalator 1 including a front wheel 2C and a rear wheel 2D which are rotatably arranged at the front and rear sides thereof. The lubricant removal device 11 for the footstep chain 3 removing excessive parts of lubricant 10 supplied to the footstep chain 3 comprises: a brush 12 which has slide contact with the footstep chain 3 positioned at the forward-side part of the footstep 2; a rod 13 which supports the brush 12; and a fixing/holding part 14 which is fixed to the frame 5 at the lower position of the footstep 2 to hold the rod 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
