PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscopic imaging system that enables wide-field microscopic imaging of a sample.SOLUTION: An imaging system includes an objective lens 1, an imaging lens system 3, and a relay optical system 5 with an objective lens-side component 6 and an image-side component 7. The objective lens-side component 6 includes at least one first objective lens-side lens group 8 and a second objective lens-side lens group 9. The image-side component 7 includes at least one first image-side lens group 10 and a second image-side lens group 11. The relay optical system 5 forms an image of the exit pupil 2 of the objective lens 1 to a pupil plane 12 between the objective lens-side component 6 and the image-side component 7, and transfers an image of the sample from an intermediate image plane 4 to an image plane 13. The imaging system includes an adaptive optical element 14 that is arranged in the pupil plane 12 between the objective lens-side component 6 and the image-side component 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
