PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oral composition which inhibits an oral mucosal irritation by protease, and which gives an excellent oral cavity biofilm removing effect and an excellent salivation promoting effect; and to provide a method for inhibiting oral mucosal irritation of the oral composition.SOLUTION: The invention provides an oral composition containing (A) protease and (B) polyglutamic acid or a salt thereof; and a method for inhibiting oral mucosal irritation of the oral composition in which the component (B) is contained in the oral composition containing the component (A) to inhibit the oral mucosal irritation by the component (A).SELECTED DRAWING: None
