The present invention relates to a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, a manufacturing method thereof, and a lithium secondary battery including the same. Specifically, the positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery includes a lithium-containing transition metal oxide. The lithium-containing transition metal oxide is coated with an inorganic compound, which reduces surface resistance. Therefore, the output of the positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery is improved.
