PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device, a battery monitoring system, and a method for setting an address to the semiconductor device that restrain a load on a control unit and adequately set an address value.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device daisy-chain connected with other semiconductor devices comprises: a first communication unit 34 for receiving reception data; a command determination unit 66 for determining the type of the reception data and for generating and outputting a first control signal and a second control signal corresponding to the determination result; an address setting unit 36 for setting an address value to a storage unit 60 on the basis of the reception data and the second control signal, and for outputting a third control signal according to the setting of the address value; an input end 1 into which the reception data is input; and an output end connected with a communication line that transmits transmission data to another semiconductor device. The semiconductor device comprises a second communication unit 40 for making the input end 1 and the output end in a connection state or non-connection state according to the first control signal or third control signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
