PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof structure of a coated electric wire terminal that can surely perform desired waterproof performance even when an existing seal member having an electric wire insertion hole having a circular cross-section is applied to a coated electric wire having a non-circular cross-section shape.SOLUTION: A waterproof structure of a coated electric wire terminal has a coated electric wire having a non-circular cross-sectional shape, an annular seal member which is mounted to a terminal portion having a circular cross-sectional shape formed in the coated electric wire, and has an electrical wire insertion hole having a circular cross-sectional shape, and first and second shape holding members which are secured to the front and rear sides of the seal member of the terminal portion, and keeps the shape while deforming the terminal portion in a circular cross-sectional shape. The second shape holding member disposed behind the seal member has a first member having at least two first fitting portions arranged to be spaced from each other at a predetermined interval in the extension direction of the coated electric wire, and a second member having at least one second fitting portion arranged alternately in the extension direction of the coated electrical wire together with the first fitting portion. A circle is shaped by the U-shaped grooves at both the sides under the state the terminal portion of the coated electric wire is sandwiched from both the sides by the first and second members having the U-shaped grooves.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
