摘要 The present invention relates to a clay brick having a visible light-responsive photocatalyst function and used largely as a brick for construction, and a method for manufacturing the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a clay brick having a photocatalyst function. The clay brick uses a highly active photocatalyst agent showing a photocatalyst function even in the visible light region so that the function of a clay brick used for construction or interior decoration may be improved. In addition, the clay brick is one having excellent aesthetic properties by virtue of various colors to allow multi-color interior designs to be expressed. A ternary photocatalyst including copper-supported tungsten oxide and titanium peroxide is fixed to the surface of the clay brick as a photocatalyst agent has been issued recently and having a visible light-responsive function, and thus the clay brick has a decomposition function capable of adsorbing and decomposing harmful volatile organic compounds and enables removal of contaminants through redox reaction caused by the surface-exposed photocatalyst particles. The clay brick uses, as a binder, smectite prepared to have a composition similar to the composition of the starting materials of the clay brick and to show high transparency and higher viscosity as compared to natural clay. Thus, it is possible to maintain the functions of the clay brick itself, including far infrared ray emission and anion emission features.
