PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of suppressing the deterioration of a printed image caused by ink discharged to the outside of a printing area.SOLUTION: A printer 10 comprises: a reaction liquid discharge head 32r capable of discharging a reaction liquid containing a coagulant; an ink discharge heat 32i capable of discharging ink droplets; and an overprinting head 32p capable of discharging droplets of an overprinting liquid. In flushing treatment, a flushing control part 11f makes the reaction liquid discharge head 32r discharge the reaction liquid to a non-printing area NPA other than a printing area PA, in which a printed image IM is formed, to form a reaction liquid layer 81. Subsequently, the flushing control part 11f makes the ink discharge heat 32i discharge the ink droplets onto the reaction liquid layer 81.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
